Frequently Asked Question

How do I Tell you about the Wildlife I Have Seen Onsite?
Last Updated 2 months ago

Recording wildlife is particularly important for wider nature conservation as it helps to understand what is happening, ecologically, on your site. Not only can it show us when nature is flourishing, but it can give us early warning signs that something is wrong, so we actively encourage our residents to monitor and report anything they find, good or bad.

Many people have a keen interest in the natural world, and a good understanding of how a thriving ecosystem can have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing and, at Betts, we really enjoy hearing when our residents reap these benefits from our work.

If you are interested in recording wildlife on your site, we would love to hear what you have seen and it will really help us to keep building the biodiversity data on your site. Please send any records via the helpdesk system on www.bettsestates.com/help, by emailing residents@bettsecology.com, or via post to Betts Estates, Bank House, Great Witley Road, Martley, Worcestershire, WR6 6PB. Please include your ENVIR number in any correspondence; you can find it at the top of your service charge letter.

Please gather as much information as you can, for example photographs, sound recordings, time, date and description, details of the habitat and any information on numbers (we are interested in abundance as well as individual sightings) and behaviour.

We love hearing about the wildlife that is making use of our sites, whether you have a good knowledge and want to send us full species information, or you have no experience but just happen to have spotted a butterfly, plant or bird and snapped a picture, so please let us know what you see.

We have a gallery section on the residents’ web pages, and we love to showcase photos from residents on there, so please let us know whether we have your permission to use your pictures for this purpose.

We look forward to hearing from you!
